Uniting Against

Breast Cancer

We are proud to announce that in 2025, the National Pre-Medical Association (NPREMA) assumed ownership of Uniting Against Breast Cancer, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to breast cancer screenings and promoting early detection.

​

Now operating as part of NPREMA’s Breast Health & Screening Access Program, this program builds upon that mission by raising awareness, providing breast health education, and connecting individuals and underserved communities with free and low-cost screening resources. Through community outreach, educational initiatives, and meaningful partnerships, we are committed to reducing barriers to preventive care and empowering individuals to take charge of their breast health.

Uniting Against Breast Cancer is an NPREMA program focused on increasing awareness, education, and access to breast cancer screening and support services. We work to empower individuals and communities through reliable information, resources, and programs that promote early detection and better health outcomes.

Ava Tsapatsaris

MEET

Director of Uniting Against Breast Cancer at NPREMA 

Ava is a published scientific researcher, with several breast imaging papers published with faculty at Weill Cornell College of Medicine. She has raised over $100,000 for cancer research, including funding a literacy and treatment room at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through grassroots and community events. Before beginning her Master of Science in Media, Medicine, and Health at Harvard, Ava designed her own major at New York University titled The Public Understanding of Science, Medicine, and Health. She completed her undergraduate degree in three years and earned several competitive undergraduate research grants. Ava bridges clinical research, health communication, and community service.
