Balancing Academics and Extracurriculars for Pre-Med Students

Writer: Eva SherEva Sher

When you spend your whole day, learning, how is their time to be involved in extracurriculars? This is a question that many of my peers, including myself, had when seeing the incredible workload that a pre-medical education entails.

And while the answer to this question, will differ for each individual one important point remains:

Experiences gained outside the classroom are equally as important as those gained inside the classroom, and will shape your practice as a clinician.

Because of this, it is crucial that we find a way to balance these two important areas of our lives while we are students. By scheduling in a forward thinking manner and prioritizing each of these things, we strengthen our educational experience and our future practice.
