MAKEUP FOR HEROES

New York, NY

Hi, my name is Gabriella Vainer! As a young adult I went through some difficult times in my life and that is when I turned to make up as a way of expressing myself. After a short time of self- tutorials, I became intrigued with what I could create, shifting my emotional focus on the art of makeup. During my college years I had profound interest learning medicine especially that of pediatric and adolescent medicine. Combining my compassion for these beautiful souls and my passionate hobby for makeup led to the creation of Makeup for Heroes. Children battling illnesses spend majority of their time in Hospitals or at home bed ridden. Through the program of Makeup for Heroes they will have the opportunity to redirect their emotional experience to make up as I once did in hopes that it will serve as a positive gateway for them. Toddlers will have their mind occupied through the face painting of their favorite heroes, while young adults will learn basic tips and styles on applying different looks as well as get their makeup done by my team and I. Makeup for Heroes is not a cure but it is a step towards putting a smile on their beautiful faces.
